I have set my Honeywell Vista in Away mode and the motions are not activating. Why is this?
There are two reasons this normally occurs. The first reason is caused by arming the panel and then not exiting out of a door that has a entry/exit delay. This will cause the system to "think" you've not left the building and then it auto arms in 'Stay' mode.
Another reason this occurs is that wireless motion detectors have what is called a 'sleep mode'. The motion detectors, to save battery life, will enter into a sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity. They will again wake up between 4-6 minutes to see if the panel is armed. If it is armed then they will stay awake until the panel is disarmed. If the main panel is not armed they will then go back to sleep.
