What’s the difference between DSC ICN and DSC LCD keypads?
While both styles look the same on the surface, they function very differently. The ICN style keypads have a fixed display. This means that they can only display certain numbers and words in predetermined locations on the screen. They can not display custom zone labels or the event log. And the trouble conditions will show as numbers that need to be decoded using the manual.
The LCD style keypads have customizable, full-message displays. This means that they can display any combination of letters and numbers which allows things like custom zone labels and the ability to scroll through the event log. They have an overall better user experience thanks to the improved interface when compared to the ICN style.
