Quick Overview

An effective cellular-based method of monitoring an outdoor location, the Flex IO is the only device of its kind. By connecting it to an existing Alarm.com account, or a standalone Flex plan, you can use the Flex IO to cover doors to a barn, lockboxes, or even connect an auxiliary contact, like a pull-apart switch for a tractor, from anywhere that can receive a cellular signal.

ADC-FLEX-100 Flex IO Cellular Sensor

Alarm.com's Flex IO, while very new in concept, provides a level of detection no other self-monitoring service has attempted yet. While looking like a large, yet simple door contact, (gray in color) this device has LTE cellular capability that extends its "wireless" range to anywhere that an LTE signal is available. It functions as a standalone cellular device that can be placed anywhere that you need protection, using a FLEX service add-on for Alarm.com interactive package.

The FLEX IO gives you the ability to attach an alarm monitoring sensor anywhere you need protection, be it a lockbox at a job site, a door on a garage, or even on farm equipment you leave in a field overnight. Not only does the FLEX IO work as a door sensor, but it also has an additional loop input for secondary dry contact, normally closed or normally open contact applications. This device has a versatile temperature range that allows it to work in any environment, ranging from -40°F to 140°F. This device runs on 4 AA batteries and can last up to 2 years between battery changes.

IMPORTANT: To use this device, you must have a cellular sensor plan through Alarm.com for each device you use. You can see plan rates HERE.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What networks does the FLEX IO work on? Does it require a separate subscription for its own SIM card?

The Flex works on either ATT or Verizon as indicated by the selection bubbles at the top of the product page, and yes a Flex IO plan is required to operate each Flex sensor. If you have an existing Alarm.com interactive account with us the cost is cheaper than using them standalone.
