      QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

      Ask a Question
      • I have an existing DSC 1864 security system (operational, however never used) with 13 zones: 7 wired smoke alarms; 1 smoke alarm power; 4 CO detectors; 1 Door contact. I am interested in upgrading the system with a wireless communicator from Alarm.com and monitoring by alarmsystemstore.com. I would also like to add some wireless door contacts to expand the system, as well as a motion sensor. What would you recommend? I cannot determine whether to purchase a mtbinc1@sbcglobal.net System Enhancement Module for DSC Power Series, or the DSC TL880LECVZ N Alarm.com Dual Path Communicator (Verizon LTE Ethernet). I do know that Verizon network coverage in my area is far superior to ATT. Thanks.

The SEM would be the proper module for your system. The TL880 only works with the newer DSC Neo system. See here for the SEM:
